Comments on how to fix battery on a Vauxhall Carlton:
do u still have it?
Yes I still have C30SE 3.0 24v cylinder heads. If the Manta has a 3.0 24-valve engine fitted the yes, of course it will fit. If it is a 12v engine, then no, it won't. However I have 3.0 12v heads too.
Excellent presentation
Ratchet jawing that poor kid, after listening to you for 5 minutes he was looking to jump out the window..
I think I will cry if this engine has an early failure. Also, I don't think that girdle has much stiffness cap to cap in the direction of the bore axis.

What heads are on the Apple?
thanks you made it simple
'Ductile iron that's very hard'... supreme contradiction of metallurgy. Ductile means it's pliable and tough. Hardened is the opposite of ductile. The harder it is, the more wear resistant, but also the more brittle it is. Hardened will not bend, but will will break. Ductile will bend, but will not break and tends to retain its shape after being subjected to high loads.

Looked like Duct Tape, but hey... whatever keeps it rollin until you have the time to get it sorted the right way! I'd like to really know what that noise is too. My 2009 2.0TSI VW EOS makes the same sound. Sometimes its quiet, other times it sounds like a diesel? Gets on my nerves as my 2005 VW Beetle is whisper quiet?
